Dalmore, 25-Year-Old (Scotland)
The latest addition to The Dalmore’s permanent range is a 25-year-old expression. The whisky was matured initially in American oak casks, before undergoing a second period of ageing in a combination of Palomino Fino sherry butts and first- fill Bourbon casks. These were then married in Bourbon barrels before a final finishing in tawny port pipes. Toffee, vanilla, figs and Jaffa oranges on the nose. More orange on the palate, with tinned peaches, milk chocolate and silky sherry. The finish is long, with ginger, liquorice and plain chocolate notes. 42.0% ABV, 70cl, £599.00, specialist whisky merchants.
