Berry Bros & Rudd, Bunnahabhain 1987 (Scotland)
This vintage expression of Bunnahabhain has been bottled in the ‘Berry’s Own Selection’ range of the legendary London wine and spirit merchants Berry Bros & Rudd. This particular bottling contains spirit malted with a higher level of peating than was usual at the time. Sweet brine, warm leather, soft smokiness and barley-sugar on the nose. The palate is rounded, deeply fruity, with ginger, nutmeg and coffee. Drying slightly in the lengthy finish, with soft spices, tangy fruits and a little soot. Multi-layered, holding its age beautifully. One of the best Bunnahabhains we have sampled. 46.0% ABV, 70cl, £145.00, Berry Bros & Rudd, specialist whisky merchants.
