Wine writer and broadcaster Tom Cannavan was a pioneer of wine on the Internet when he launched wine-pages.com in 1995. In 2008 he was awarded the trophy as Louis Roederer International Online Wine Writer of the Year, and then in 2010 the Portuguese wine industry named him as Wine Journalist of the Year. Tom is also the resident wine expert on Scottish Television's magazine show The Hour.

Publishing wine-pages.com remains Tom's passion, but he has carved a reputation writing about wine and food in print too: He writes regularly for publications including Decanter, World of Fine Wine, Harpers Wine & Spirit and Off Licence News. Tom has written or contributed to 10 wine books, including the annual Wine Report, the Which? Wine Guide and the Good Web Guide to Wine.

Tom is also a founder member of www.thewinegang.com, publishing a monthly tasting report with colleaugues Anthony Rose, Joanna Simon, David Williams and Jane Parkinson.

Tom judges some of the world's most prestigious wine competitions on three continents, including several competitions in Australia, Chile, Argentina, Italy, France, Germany and the UK. As a public speaker, Tom hosts fun wine tastings for corporate clients. Contact www.taste-in.com to book his services.

In 2004 Tom launched beer-pages.com, an online magazine dedicated to speciality beers. Tom met up with Gavin D Smith in 2005, and now, whisky-pages.com joins this small stable of high quality drinks web sites, that are completely independent and feature a mix of reviews, news and information.
